Indoor Switchgear Module

 

The indoor switching module and control switching module has been mounted onto AG16  switchgear circuit breaker carriage by means of retrofit kit. Retrofitted circuit breaker is intended to be used instead of original Bulk oil circuit breaker. Usage of above components allows the switchgear to acquire new characteristics. With minimum installation expense, it guarantees:

BULK OIL CIRCUIT BREAKERS

 

Bulk oil circuit breakers for GEC type AG16 switchgear are widely used in former distribution boards around the world. Meanwhile many of these are nearing the end of their useful lifetime. Their reliability is decreasing, the maintenance effort is increasing and they become a safety risk.

 

Sergilec offers a retrofit solution for this type of circuit breaker. The existing truck will be completely disassembled, powder coated and reassembled using new switching components and contact systems. The interlocking mechanism which prevents incorrect operation and withdrawel of the circuit breaker are retained. Electro-mechanical mechanisms are added tp enhance the safe operation of the unit:

 

  • The circuit breaker can be closed only in the following positions:

  •  “Plugged - in” or “Service”

  • “Earthing”

  • “Isolated and withdrawal”

  • The circuit breaker can be withdraw from or inserted into the fixed housing only at the “Isolated and Withdrawal” position.

  • Connection and disconnection of the secondary plug is possible only inthe “fPlugged - in or “ Service” position.

  • If required, the circuit breaker racking equipment and its manual / electrical operating pushbuttons can be padlocked in any position.

  • If interlocking handle is in “Free” position or ISM is in intermediate position additional electrical interlocking prevents closing of ISM.

The heart of the retrofit solution is Tavrida Electric’s unique vacuum circuit breaker, ISM. All switching elements are assembled axially symmetrical. The mechanical movements are direct and linear. Each pole is operated by an individual magnetic actuator. All three actuators are mounted in a steel frame and are mechanically linked by a synchronizing shaft.

 

This innovative circuit breaker design completely avoids failure of critical components like:
